Awards for outstanding contributions to public health presented during the Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly

Grants for extraordinary commitments to general wellbeing introduced during the Seventy-6th World Wellbeing Gathering

During a moving service at the Seventy-6th World Wellbeing Gathering in Geneva, grants were introduced to people and organizations from around the world for their extraordinary commitments to general wellbeing.

"The 2023 general wellbeing prizes and grants celebrate individuals who have made a critical commitment to worldwide wellbeing, and whose work has stretched out a long ways past the call of typical obligation," said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Chief General. "At the point when the world countenances many difficulties, each is a motivation and an indication of the headway that can be made to further develop wellbeing and prosperity for all."

The call for selections of contender for each prize is conveyed every year after conclusion of the World Wellbeing Gathering. Selections can be made by public wellbeing organizations of a WHO Part State and by any previous beneficiary of the awards. At its 152nd meeting in January 2023, the Chief Board assigned the 2023 victors of the awards, based on recommendations made by the devoted determination boards for each award.

The seven laureates have been chosen to praise their remarkable job and commitment for general wellbeing in their nations and universally. They come from four WHO Districts - for the Americas, the Eastern-Mediterranean, South-East Asia and the Western Pacific. Five victors are people, and three among them are ladies. Likewise, the two organizations that have gotten a 2023 honor are driven by ladies.
